omequiz is a free, browser-based multiplayer quiz game. One player creates a room and picks the categories, everyone else joins with a six-character code, and you all answer the same questions at the same time. Points depend on being right and on how fast you answer.

Is omequiz free to play?

Yes, completely. A free account is needed so your score and friends list persist, but there is nothing to pay for and no premium tier.

How many players can join an omequiz game?

Between 1 and 10 per room. You can play solo to practise, open a public lobby, or keep the room private and share the code only with friends.

Can I create my own quizzes on omequiz?

Yes. The quiz editor lets you write your own questions and answers, add images and publish the quiz so other players can find and play it. Published quizzes are reviewed before they appear publicly.

Camera streams and uploaded images run through automated checks, any player can report another during a game, and reports go to a moderation queue backed by warnings and bans. Playing requires an account, so behaviour is tied to an identity rather than being anonymous.

Community Guidelines

The short version: it is a quiz game. Behave the way you would at a quiz night with people you have not met yet. Everything else is below.

Immediate and permanent ban

No warning, no exceptions:

Any sexual depiction of minors, and any attempt to contact a minor for sexual purposes. We ban and report these cases to the authorities.
Sexual acts or exposure on camera
Threats of violence against a real person
Sharing recordings of other players without their knowledge
Using the platform while under 16

Leads to a warning or a ban

Harassment.Insults, degradation, or hostility based on origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation or disability. Including the “it was just a joke” variety.
Continuing after someone said no. If someone does not want to talk, that is the end of the conversation.
Cheating. Looking up and sharing answers, multiple accounts, deliberately losing, automation.
Spam and advertising. Unrelated links, server promotion, chain messages.
Impersonation. Pretending to be someone else, especially a moderator or a member of the team.
Misusing reports. Reporting someone because they beat you — at a quiz.

Rules for quizzes you write

Published quizzes are reviewed before they go live. We reject anything that:

contains pornographic content, glorifies violence, or incites hatred
reuses someone else's material without the right to do so (images, whole question sets)
targets a real, identifiable private individual
is filler — empty questions, keyboard mashing, advertising inside the question text

Wrong answers are not grounds for rejection, they are normal. Report them and we will correct them or talk to the author.

Consequences

We work in steps: warning (counted per account), temporary suspension, permanent ban. How fast this escalates depends on severity — for the items in the first section there are no steps.

When open reports accumulate against the same account and the evidence supports them, a provisional suspension is applied automatically until a human has decided. That is deliberate: better to briefly suspend someone wrongly than to let ongoing harassment continue.

Appeals

If you think a decision was wrong, write to [email protected] with your username and roughly when it happened. We review the case together with its evidence and normally reply within two working days. Decisions do get reversed when they were wrong — it happens.

What you can do yourself

You do not have to wait for us to step in. Leave the room, block the person — which stops them contacting you or joining your rooms — and file a report. More on this under safety and moderation.
