It is a live game rather than a solo trivia app. Nobody answers on their own clock: everyone in the room sees the same question at the same moment, and the round moves on when the timer does.
Pick up to three of the nine categories, set how many questions and how hard they should be, and the room exists. You get a six-character code and a link to it.
Anyone with the code joins in a browser — no install and no app store, on a phone as readily as a laptop. Up to ten players per room, or leave the lobby public and let it fill on its own.
Points scale with speed as well as with being right, so a fast answer is worth more than a slow one and the order on the scoreboard keeps changing. Voice and video are optional on top.

We run automated image checks on camera streams and uploads, every player can report another mid-game, and reports go to a moderation queue with warnings and bans behind it. Playing requires an account, so behaviour is tied to an identity rather than being anonymous. Our safety page explains the details.
No. omequiz is a game — you join a specific room to play a quiz, and video is an optional extra on top of that. There is no 'next stranger' button and no open-ended chat with people you were randomly paired with.
