October 2026

  1. Content

Every guide now names its author

Guides carry a by-line that links to the About page, which says who is responsible for them and how to report a mistake. Two guides that said joining a room needs no account were corrected: it needs a free one.

    See it
  2. Content

Four new guides: New Year’s Eve, seniors, true or false, football

Ready-to-read question lists with the answer and the story behind each one, and advice on running the round for that audience — from a party counting down to midnight to an afternoon in a care home.

    See it
  3. Content

The whole question pool, reviewed by hand

Every multiple-choice question was read again: 130 that did not hold up came out, 60 were reworded, and the categories that ran thin at one difficulty were refilled. The estimation questions were reviewed too, and the range of the answer slider no longer gives the answer away.

  4. Improved

Fresh questions and words, game after game

Taboo and drawing words now rotate across games, and the quiz prefers questions you have not seen yet at every difficulty, so the same ten no longer come back.

  5. New

Up to ten rounds of Taboo or draw & guess

A word game can now run for up to ten rounds, the next one starts straight from the final screen, and the lobby comes back by itself afterwards. Taboo also tells you when a guess was close.

  6. Improved

Difficulty levels for the word modes

Taboo and draw & guess use the same easy, medium and hard levels as the quiz, and their word lists grew several times over.

  7. Improved

One account, whichever way you sign in

Signing in with Discord or Google now joins the existing account with the same e-mail address instead of creating a second one, and a new account lands on the home page rather than in a room it did not choose.

  8. New

    New drawing tools

Draw & guess gained straight lines, rectangles, ellipses, triangles, a paint bucket and a full-screen canvas.

  9. Improved

    Feels more like an app

The screen stays on during a round, invites use your phone’s own share sheet, and the mode cards on the home page open a lobby in that mode directly.

  10. New

    Push notifications

If you allow it, you are notified about game invites, messages and friend requests even when omequiz is not open.

  11. Improved

Voice and camera stay on between rounds

Microphone, camera and the voice connection carry over from one round to the next, and guests stay in the lobby after a game instead of being sent away.

  12. Safety

Child safety standards and account deletion, published

The safety page now publishes our child safety standards, and a public page explains step by step how to delete an account and what happens to its data.

  13. New

Two new game modes: Taboo and draw & guess

Explain a word without the forbidden ones, or draw it while everyone else guesses — in the same room as the quiz, with voice chat and nothing to install.

September 2026

  1. Improved

    Quicker rounds for the host

The host can skip the result card after a question when everyone has seen it, and on a phone the header no longer runs into the back button.

  2. Content

    Three new question guides

Film, TV and music questions, a Halloween quiz, and quiz questions for children sorted by age — each with the answers and the context that makes them worth asking.

  3. New

The daily round, right on the home page

Today’s five questions can be played straight from the home page. You see the answer after every question and a review of the whole round at the end, and signed-in players earn XP for it.

  4. Content

    Insights: what the answers say

New pages built from real answers in real games: which questions trip most players up, which wrong answer they pick instead, and how hard each category turns out to be compared with its label.

  5. Improved

    Rate and report questions

Right after answering, you can rate a question or report a mistake in it. Reports go to the moderators, who fix or remove the question.

  6. Safety

    Fair rounds, safer chat

Closed the ways a player could cheat a round, removed kicked or banned players from voice and video on the server side, and tightened chat moderation for threats and reports.

  7. Content

    166 new questions

Question set v1.9 added 166 questions across the categories, including more recent topics for the first time.

  8. New

Up to three categories per room

A room can now mix up to three categories, and the round draws its questions from all of them — the easiest way to keep a mixed group close on points.

  9. Content

    More variety at every difficulty

Question sets v1.7 and v1.8 gave every category enough hard questions for a whole evening and broke up runs of near-identical questions, like thirty capitals in a row.

  10. New

    The daily round

Five questions, the same five for everyone, new every day. Playable without an account, with a result you can send to someone.

    See it
  11. Safety

    The server keeps the score

The answer clock and XP are now decided by the server rather than the browser, and turning on two-factor authentication or resetting a password signs out every other session.

  12. Content

    Five new guides

Pub quiz rules and round formats, how quiz scoring works, estimation questions with answers, quizzes in the classroom, and a Christmas quiz.

    See it
  13. Safety

    Advertising only with your consent

Advertising loads only after you agree to it, and never on game, lobby or account screens. The privacy policy was rewritten to say plainly what is stored and why.

    See it
  14. New

Something to play while you wait

The lobby has a small arcade — Tetris or Snake — for the minutes before everyone is ready.

  15. Content

Question review: 224 in, 12 out

A pass over the pool removed twelve weak questions and added 224 new ones.

  16. New

Quiz night mode, and invites by WhatsApp

A host can run a round from a shared screen without playing — for a pub, a classroom or the big TV. The lobby also has a WhatsApp invite, worded in each player’s language.

  17. Safety

    Two-factor authentication

Every account can now add a second factor at sign-in.

  18. Content

A full question list for every category

Each category was brought up to 46 to 57 multiple-choice questions — enough for a list with answers on its own page, ready to read out.

July 2026

  1. New

Play a quiz alone, no account needed

Any published community quiz can be played solo by anyone with the link, and solo players see the right answer before moving on.

    See it
  2. New

A ninth category, and an address for every quiz

Türkenquiz — licence plate codes, Almanya and inside knowledge — joined as the ninth category, and every community quiz got a short address of its own.

    See it
  3. Fixed

    Fairer questions

Removed questions with more than one defensible answer, stopped the right answer landing in the same slot most of the time, and added 54 questions built around a twist rather than a fact to recall.

  4. Safety

    Chat filter and camera checks

Chat messages are filtered for abuse, camera images are checked automatically, and each round is played in the language its player picked.

    See it
  5. Content

Guides, and a public page for every quiz

The first guides went live — hosting a quiz night, writing good questions, a quiz at work — and every approved community quiz got a public page that can be found and shared.
